Our Story.
On Point Engineering began over 10 years ago and half a world away.
Founder Stafford Carter spent his first year out of college working for a residential focused engineering firm based in Charleston, SC when he felt the call to serve alongside Engineering Ministries International. Next thing he knew, he was on a plane and trying to figure out what it meant to be a structural engineer serving in Kampala, Uganda. When he arrived, however, it was clear that there were already great organizations on the ground serving the most vulnerable,
they just needed partners willing to go and serve as well as support local professionals with a shared mission.

Inspired by the Apostle Paul and the concept of “tentmaking”, the idea for On Point Engineering came alive.
What would it look like to provide
excellent engineering services here at home
while also serving those
who need our services most around the world?
The internship with eMi provided a glimpse into what this partnership could look like.

After returning home to the Lowcountry, Stafford committed himself to develop his skills as an engineer, project manager, and leader in order to make this idea a reality. He has had the opportunity to work and learn alongside incredible teams of engineers as well as other international mission organizations like OneWorld Health and Water Mission.
On Point Engineering, LLC was officially formed and launched in the summer of 2022
to meet the needs of Lowcountry residences needing structural engineering services
as well as providing our team resources to serve alongside world changing organizations.
